This blog will document topics of interest and historical 3D builds I'm creating using OpenSim.The initial focus will be the Liverpool & Manchester Railway which connected a major port to a major industrial centre and catalysed their prodigious growth during the late Georgian and Victorian eras.
At the same time it gives me a chance to try Silvrback as an alternative to more familiar blogging tools and so far I've been impressed by how simple it is to get started. Simple is good. In similar vein I will likely discuss tools and strategies I've found useful or want to try.
The concept of Build2Understand was borrowed from synthetic biology but describes very well the rationale behind my builds and, in particular, their use to pose new questions and hopefully elicit answers that are feasible if not necessarily accurate. Expect some guesswork.
As a hobby historian and amateur developer there will likely be errors in both my blogs and builds. Caveat lector.
